Expedition
Pico de Orizaba
Expedition Overview
For learning about high altitude climbing, this is an awesome objective. From the US it’s only a short inexpensive flight, similar time zone and has the beautiful culture of central Mexico. At just under 18,500 feet it’s a great way to learn about high altitude climbing and how your body responds. There are also a ton of cool itineraries for acclimatization that involve various levels of technical climbing. Especially if your a rock climber there are some awesome options that mix beautiful unique cragging and summit objectives all while building up to higher elevations. Reach out if you want to get involved, these programs will range in length from 7-10 days depending on prior acclimatization. There is also some nuance to consider when picking what part of the season to climb in as well.
