The Fisher Chimneys Route
The perfect blend of glaciers, rock climbing and amazing views on a multi-day climb to the summit of Shuksan.
On day one we try to get though the infamous fisher chimneys section. Low 5th class rock moves and exposure here and there make for an exciting ‘approach’. Camping at an amazing saddle, flanked by hanging glaciers and views of Mt. Baker makes this a worthwhile day in itself.
Next we head out onto the glacier to get warmed up the summit pyramid with another section of 4th to low 5th class rock climbing on high quality alpine rock.
Usually its a good idea to spend another day at camp before descending to make sure everyones feeling fresh for the descent through the fisher chimneys.
Welcome to camp. Get ready for the adventure to really start.
