The North Cascades is one of the best places on the planet for alpine adventure climbing. It has the perfect mix of all the elements climbers look for.

Cross beautiful blue glaciers to reach epic high camps and summit on routes with quality gneiss and schist.  The weather is amazingly comfortable and stable in late summer and the overnight packs are light.

Most climbs break up into great 2-3 day programs and range from 3rd/4th class scrambles to routes with the perfect short pitches of 5.7 approach shoe climbing.

This is the place where the mountains seem like they were thoughtfully designed for alpine climbing. The season is best late June through the end of August.

The moderate nature and forgiving conditions make the Cascades an amazing training ground to implement traditional alpine climbing skills. These routes are a great place to put into practice the full expedition and adventure climbing skillset. Glacier travel, moderate exposed terrain and overnight expedition skills are all part of the puzzle. These climbs are great ‘graduation’ programs for the Trad Climbing For Mountain Athletes series.
