David and I managed to compete this climb just in the nick of time.  As we got back to the ground at 2pm the forecasted winter storm arrived with blowing snow and temperatures dropping to 0F.

Climbing on the Great Dihedral on Hallet’s Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park.  This classic alpine rock climb usually gets done in the summer with difficulties up to 5.7.  Climbing in the winter offers a unique opportunity to put your rock climbing and self care skills to the test.

This is an advanced trip that requires experience with multi-pitch rock climbing and alpine climbing experience.  5.7/M5 will challenge any 5.10 rock climber in boots and gloves.  While there is no ice on this climb having experience climbing through snow is a must.
