Spring conditions in the park are great for some alpine ice climbing.  Late in the season much of the ice has experienced a level of sublimation which gives it a very different character from what your going to see in newly formed water ice.  Our brief transition to more of an alpine ice rating is in full effect.

In addition the weather can make for some enjoyable alpine conditions with moderate avalanche danger.  A mix of wind, spindrift and snow is a great way to have a good day in the alpine.

This climb is known as All Mixed Up and is one of the parks classic alpine ice climbs.  At four pitches of WI/AI 3/3+ it is a great way for a intermediate ice climber to step into a worthy objective.
